Blackpool at low tide

Here is Blackpool from a couple of years ago in which you can see the new white stairways being built to allow safer access and exit to and from the beach.

Happy Meal Toys

The children were engrossed with their free puppy toys in an art gallery in Blackpool.

Blackpool Glitterball

Another Breezy Blackpool photo of the children with Erin's hair being blown about.

Blackpool Sculptures

This was converted to black and white to emphasize the shapes of the structures and I also caught the people on the roller coaster at the top.

Blackpool Beach Nuts

This is not the usual beach known to most tourists as it is beyond the Pleasure Beach. I like the unusual nuts and placed this large monument of a glitter ball on the edge of the wall.

Port Glasgow Fire Station

This shows the fire station with Fergusons Shipyard behind it. To the right is the old rope works building which is now converted into luxury flats

Sunday, 13 November 2011

This was taken for a dereliction theme.
I was attracted by the gate of this old nursery and the abandoned building in the background. I liked the keep out sign and the fact that someone had left a yellow cart on the site which would possibly would have attracted children onto a dangerous site

Kibble Palace

Smetimes you can take good pictures on bleak days if you remember to think in black and white and shapes when taking them.

Wellington Reflections

Taken outside the MOMA in Glasgow the same day with good reflections on the paving between showers

Wednesday, 26 October 2011

I loved the reflections here in the rain and the girls umbrella added nice colour to the scene

Fog Horn on The Isle of May

This was taken after a boat trip to see the puffins which are easy to get close to on the island. There is also a lighthouse in the background.

On the dune

Taken near Lossiemouth where the beaches are fantastic but windy

Glasgow Architecture

Taken on a rainy day in Glasgow. I liked the shapes and reflection of the red sandstone building on the silver wall.

Lochranza Castle

This is a copy from an old slide taken in Lochranza on the Isle of Arran years ago. I liked the reflections on the water. Unfortunately I used a poor quality scanner but the grain in the photo adds to the effect.

Killiekrankie woods

Taken in Killiecrankie in Perthshire a few years ago one Easter. I like the brownness of the landscape which made the pink stand out.

Port Glasgow Clock Tower and War Memorial

This was taken from the high flats which allowed a good view of the Clock Tower and War Memorial with the River Clyde in the background.

Misty Cranes on the Clyde

Taken as the sun set over the Greenock hills one winter. I liked the mist that was returning after the days sunshine had cleared it away

Thursday, 6 October 2011

Port Glasgow War Memorial

This was taken early one morning to catch the low light shining a golden glow on the structures. I likes the old street light and St Andrews curch on the background

Wednesday, 5 October 2011

Double Rainbow over Port Glasgow

This one of the tracks the old Scott Lithgow Crane ran on. The picture was taken on the same day as the previous photo and the light was ideal for rainbows over the Clyde.

Tuesday, 4 October 2011

Port Glasgow Boat and Lighthouses

Taken with a pocket camera between heavy showers when the sun broke through the clouds.

James Watt Dock Sugar Sheds pillar

This was taken one bleak rainy day. The colours were brought out by the setting my compact camera for taking flowers.

Greenock Sunset

This letterbox photo was taken near my home and converted to black and white to bring out the shapes of the Greenock landmarks
